Education & True Word of Yah: History of Mardi Gras- Keeping the Idol Worship of The Calf Alive

Those of us who believe in the One True Creator, Abba, El Elyon, Lord of Spirits, Ancient of Days, The Great I AM... we have No Reason to celebrate this pagan holiday that is blasphemous to our One and Only Creator. So if you claim to be Yah's Child and celebrate this day, Please STOP!

We must come to understand that the cultures we have been raised in are wrong! Most of the things we hold as customs, traditions, "runs in the family", religion and yes even our countries annual events and gatherings are wrong.

When we pay homage: meaning to idolize, worship, celebrate... to Anyone or Anything Above Our Creator that act and gesture or thought of "its just a party, I'm not here to worship a calf..." is sin. Just being there is the act of sin: because you went knowing that Mardi Gras is the worship of calves.

Knowing the real meaning of holidays, celebrations, parades, parties..... can keep you from sinning. Then the choice becomes will-full sin; meaning do you still go once you know the truth about in this case Why Mardi Gras is Celebrated. I pray this sermon changes your minds about Mardi Gras and you continue to build your relationship with Abba Yah.

The History of Mardi Gras- Mardi Gras New Orleans

The origins of Mardi Gras can be traced to medieval Europe, passing through Rome and Venice in the 17th and 18th centuries to the French House of the Bourbons. From here, the traditional revelry of "Boeuf Gras," or fatted calf, followed France to her colonies.

Exodus 32:1-8

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

5 And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the Lord.

6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

7 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

On March 2, 1699, French-Canadian explorer Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville arrived at a plot of ground 60 miles directly south of New Orleans, and named it "Pointe du Mardi Gras" when his men realized it was the eve of the festive holiday. Bienville also established "Fort Louis de la Louisiane" (which is now Mobile) in 1702. In 1703, the tiny settlement of Fort Louis de la Mobile celebrated America's very first Mardi Gras.

In 1704, Mobile established a secret society (Masque de la Mobile), similar to those that form our current Mardi Gras krewes. It lasted until 1709. In 1710, the "Boeuf Gras Society" was formed and paraded from 1711 through 1861. The procession was held with a huge bull's head pushed along on wheels by 16 men. Later, Rex would parade with an actual bull, draped in white and signaling the coming Lenten meat fast. This occurred on Fat Tuesday.

Imagine that, Mardi Gras has a history linked to Rome. If you have listened to, or read any recent sermons, we have been talking about how Rome is still in power and is Mystery Babylon because The Vatican Rules and Controls Everything, and the pope is the Not Touchable at all for he is the sol monarch... Mardi Gras history : the ancient days.- Explore Italian Culture

The ancient Romans, of course, were predecessors of the Italian people. And, like all good Italians, they liked nothing better than a good party.

To celebrate the winter solstice the feast of ‘Saturnalia’ took place in mid-December, honouring Saturn, the god of seed and sowing, and Opalia, goddess of plenty.

And ‘Lupercalia’, an ancient feast celebrating fertliity, was held in February and is also thought to be a forerunner of Mardi Gras, although it’s also linked with Valentine's Day.

When the Christian religion grew in ancient Rome, its leaders decided to use these pagan festivals to their advantage rather than try to outlaw them.

So the celebrations of ‘Saturnalia’ and ‘Lupercalia’ became incorporated into the Church’s preparations for the celebrations of the resurrection of Christ - Easter Sunday.

Ash Wednesday, forty days before Easter, starts a period of Lent fasting and abstinence. Knowing that this period of lean was coming, the idea of Carnival or ‘Carnevale’ was born and combined with those ancient Roman feasts to create ‘Mardi Gras’, literally ‘Fat Tuesday’.

Again as you can see we have a website on culture admit to the incorporation of pagan holidays into "Christian holidays"... Brothers and Sisters, these are the Same Holidays. Just Like Christmas Isn't Real... neither is Easter and Lent. This is how they kept their pagan days alive. This is Why Abba Yah Says:

Isaiah 1:11-14

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

Amos 5:21-22

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.

Let us look at the etymology of Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras (n.)

"Shrove Tuesday, last day of carnival, day of eating and merrymaking before the fasting season of Lent," 1690s, French, literally "fat Tuesday," from mardi "Tuesday" (12c. in Old French, from Latin Martis diem "day of the planet Mars;" see Tuesday) + gras "fat," from Latin crassus, "thick," which is of unknown origin.

Etymology of Tuesday- (part of it from etymology.com)

The day name (second element dæg, see day) is a translation of Latin dies Martis (source of Italian martedi, French Mardi) "Day of Mars," from the Roman god of war, who was identified with Germanic Tiw (though etymologically Tiw is related to Zeus), itself a loan-translation of Greek Areos hēmera. In cognate German Dienstag and Dutch Dinsdag, the first element would appear to be Germanic ding, þing "public assembly," but it is now thought to be from Thinxus, one of the names of the war-god in Latin inscriptions.

Mardi Gras is not only a celebration of calves but a celebration in honor of a fake god and is really the celebration of the fallen angels who taught mankind about war.

Who is Mars?

Mars was the Roman god of war and second only to Jupiter in the Roman pantheon. Although most of the myths involving the god were borrowed from the Greek god of war Ares, Mars, nevertheless, had some features which were uniquely Roman.

Mars is the god of war... do you recall the fallen angels who taught war? This worship of mars is just another example of how names have changed to hide the worship of the fallen angels.

Enoch 8:1-2

Enoch 69:6-7

And the third was named Gadreel: he it is who showed the children of men all the blows of death, and he led astray Eve, and showed [the weapons of death to the sons of men] the shield and the coat of mail, and the sword for battle, and all the weapons of death to the children of men. 7. And from his hand they have proceeded against those who dwell on the earth from that day and for evermore.

Festivals like Mardi Gras are how these principalities in high places remain in high places... people either blindly worship them or they know that Mardi Gras is pagan and partake willingly.

It is time for us to face reality and to Turn Back To Our One True Creator. By letting go of the pagan holidays, customs and cultures we have held onto for so long, we can Truly begin to experience Freedom and Peace Under Abba Yah's True Words.
