True Word of Yah: Revelation 15 Study-Understanding Signs, Plagues & Wrath

This study will look at the words plague and wrath along with their meaning in both New and Old Testaments.


Revelation 15:1

And I saw another sign (G4592) in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues (G4127); for in them is filled up the wrath(G2372) of God.


1.) Sign-G4592: σημεῖον sēmeîon, say-mi'-on; neuter of a presumed derivative of the base of G4591; an indication, especially ceremonially or supernaturally:—miracle, sign, token, wonder.

Matthew 16:4

Matthew 24:24

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs G4592 and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.


Matthew 24:30

And then shall appear the sign G4592 of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.


Sign-H226: אוֹת ʼôwth, oth; probably from H225 (in the sense of appearing); a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc.:—mark, miracle, (en-) sign, token.

Isaiah 8:18

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs H226 and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.


Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; H226Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.


Genesis 9:12

And God said, This is the token H226 of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:


Another term for sign is wonders


Wonders-G5059: τέρας téras, ter'-as; of uncertain affinity; a prodigy or omen:—wonder.


Biblical Usage

miracle: performed by any one


We are told in the last days in Matthew 24:24 that many false prophets will come showing sighns and wonders and we are to Discern these people!!


Acts 2:22

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders G5059 and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:


Wonder-H6382: פֶּלֶא peleʼ, peh'-leh; from H6381; a miracle:—marvellous thing, wonder(-ful, -fully).

Exodus 15:11

Thou art the God that doest wonders: H6382 thou hast declared thy strength among the people.


Psalm 88:12

Shall thy wonders H6382 be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?


2.) Plauges-G4127- πληγή plēgḗ, play-gay'; from G4141; a stroke; by implication, a wound; figuratively, a calamity:—plague, stripe, wound(-ed).


Do you think that all the clamity in this world qualifies as a plague? I Think it does and I believe that this is why when Abba Yah, The Lord God Almighty says that nobody will know the day or hour of His Return it is because of the way they are Discerning the times according to their own understandings. Nobody does know the exact time The Lord God will return, but we are Definintly closer than what most believe. All you have to do is look at the news and you will see the public calamity occuring and heavy affiction of people all around the world.

Revelation 9:20

And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues G4127 yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:


The root word of G4127 is G4141- πλήσσω plḗssō, place'-so; apparently another form of G4111 (through the idea of flattening out); to pound, i.e. (figuratively) to inflict with (calamity):—smite. Compare G5180.


Revelation 8:12

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, G4141 and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.


The root word of both G4127 and G4141 is G4111- πλάσσω plássō, plas'-so; a primary verb; to mould, i.e. shape or fabricate:—form.

The root word of plagues is G4111 meaning potter or to form. Who do you think the potter is? The Lord God Almighty!!! Plauges are designed to make one repent.


Romans 9:20

Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed G4111 it, Why hast thou made me thus?


How do we know the Lord God is the potter?


H3335 is the same as G4111 but in Hebrew and is found in the following verses:


Isaiah 29:16

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's H3335 clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed H3335 it, He had no understanding?


Isaiah 64:8

But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; H3335 and we all are the work of thy hand


Jeremiah 18:6

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? H3335saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's H3335hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.



3.) Wrath-G2372- θυμός thymós, thoo-mos'; from G2380; passion (as if breathing hard):—fierceness, indignation, wrath. Compare G5590.


Biblical Outline

passion, angry, heat, anger forthwith boiling up and soon subsiding again

glow, ardour, the wine of passion, inflaming wine (which either drives the drinker mad or kills him with its strength)


Ephesians 4:31

Let all bitterness, and wrath, G2372 and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:


Revelations 14:8

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath G2372 of her fornication.


Wrath-H2740- חָרוֹן chârôwn, khaw-rone'; or (shortened) חָרֹן chârôn; from H2734; a burning of anger:—sore displeasure, fierce(-ness), fury, (fierce) wrath(-ful).

Nemeiah 13:18

Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath H2740 upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.


Isaiah 13:13

Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce H2740 anger.


We are experiencing The Lord God's anger now. It is not His full anger in The Last Day, but His Anger is upon us Now.


G2380 is the root word of wrath G2372 and means: θύω thýō, thoo'-o; a primary verb; properly, to rush (breathe hard, blow, smoke), i.e. (by implication) to sacrifice (properly, by fire, but genitive case); by extension to immolate (slaughter for any purpose):—kill, (do) sacrifice, slay.

H2734 is the root word of wrath H2740 and means- חָרָה chârâh, khaw-raw'; a primitive root (compare H2787); to glow or grow warm; figuratively (usually) to blaze up, of anger, zeal, jealousy:—be angry, burn, be displeased, × earnestly, fret self, grieve, be (wax) hot, be incensed, kindle, × very, be wroth. See H8474.

Numbers 11:1

And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; H2734and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.


Deuteronomy 11:17

And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled H2734 against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
